First Semester: Second Part, From October To December
OCTOBER: The Hurricane Is Here As I explained in the post for September, as classes were getting closer, it became clear that the year would be very intense. What happened exceeded my expectations. Ignoring Wise Tips: Challenges And Opportunities In August, I met with my academic advisor and asked him if it was feasible to take five courses (in general, the recommendation is taking four). Given that I am also a research assistant at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government, he strongly recommended that I take four courses – that is, if I did not want to spend the whole day in the library. Finally, the courses were too tempting and I took five. At the end of the day, I told myself, I am only here for a year. I often thought about my advisor's wisdom during the first semester, drafting papers early in the morning and doing readings late at night. Still, I do not regret taking five courses – I loved all of them. Memorial Church in the fall The Widener library A Stand
